Will you be the first to finish in Weird Tales? It's a race to the end (card) as players pit their story skills against each other to emerge as the victorious storyteller!

Weird Tales is a storytelling game where players help to complete a story using cards in their hand. Every card will earn you points; the one with the most points at the end of the game is the winner!

Weird Tales is a storytelling card game for 3-6 players, aged 10 years and up.

Earn turn, a player uses one of the five cards in his hand to contribute to the story being told. Players are awarded points based on the cards used each turn; points are tabulated at the end of the game. The winner is one with the most points!

Hello!
The I Heart Board Games! team has been so busy with our new games (scroll down to find out more) that we've only just realised that Christmas is around the corner!

We've been playing the new expansion of Castle Panic (a small box expansion but adds to game play nonetheless), explored Chrononauts (a time travel game by the makers of Fluxx) and can't wait to open the all new Black Secret expansion of Ghost Stories (because we want a chance to play as Wu Feng)!

It's been a year since Weird Tales was released and we're already down to our last one hundred pieces - if you haven't got your copy yet, grab it while you can! We're working on printing another run with all new images and maybe a few extra cards.

The team has been working on several projects: games for fun and games for the classroom. Most are still TOP SECRET (because we've always wanted to be spies) but if you like collecting artifacts or rolling dice or connecting circuits, we have the game(s) for you!

We'll be inviting gamers over to playtest our new titles - keep a lookout if you're interested! Or better still, drop us an email and we'll contact you as soon as we confirm playtesting dates.

And finally, we're always on the lookout for team players! If you have a game idea (or several) you'd like to share or do kicka** programming and like a challenge or maybe you just really like to draw (and want to see your art on our stuff), give us a call or email us at work@iheartboardgames.com

Global Entrepreneurship Week 2011

The I Heart Board Games! team had the wonderful opportunity of participating in the Global Entrepreneurship Week for the second year running!

We showcased our upcoming (and soon to be released) games, Regimen and Carnival Cantina at the exhibition space outside The Cathay.

Andrew also shared his entrepreneurial journey with guests at Singapore Polytechnic.

We've met some VERY enthusiastic wannabe entrepreneurs (students) and fellow risk takers (other entrepreneurs) and we also had lots of Ben and Jerry's ice cream!

Hi there! Last Friday, we had 'Games Night' after work and it was LEGEN -- wait for it -- DARY! We played a total of three games: Castle Panic, Shadow Hunter and lastly, Family Fluxx. The one you could see from the pictures is Castle Panic. Look at how they were carefully plotting against all the trolls and goblins!

The team here at I Heart Board Games! have been working really hard! We've come up with a new game, a history game, which revolves around the Battle of Pasir Panjang! ARTiculate! @ Cantonment Primary School! The international students had a really fabulous time sharing about their favourite native food!

We don't just play games! The team at I Heart Board Games! has put together various enrichment workshops such as Storyteller! (for young storytellers), Write! (for budding writers), ARTiculate! (for english enthusiasts), Take The Stage! (for student leaders) and Good Morning! (for little broadcasters).

Today, after work, some of us at I Heart Board Games! sat together to play a really exciting war game (awesome for history buffs!). You could see the game from Picture 2 and 3! We can't tell you what the name of the game is, right now, but but but it will be fantastic and out in the market soon! Keep checking the blog or our Facebook page for more information! This was my first 'Games Night' with the company since joining, and boy, did I have fun! Are you guys familiar with the adventure board game 'Arkham Horror'? It spooked the daylights out of me (perhaps, because we played it at night) but it was still pretty enjoyable. My luck was terrible; I kept rolling numbers like 1,2,3 and 4 on the die when all I needed was a 5 or 6. Oh well. Since we didn't implement any forfeits, too bad for all you people who were looking forward to a few people posing in silly positions!

Today, we went to Griffiths Primary School to speak to the students there about entrepreneurship as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week! Thank you so much for being so involved and putting up your hands so quickly! We really appreciate your support, kids! =)

Today, we went to Hua Yi Secondary School to playtest Carnival Cantina! The students of Hua Yi's Entrepreneurship Club were really keen in playing the game and had lots of fun.

We've been getting a lot of feedback from the schools we've gone to for playtesting sessions! Thank you everyone for your kind suggestions. =)

Did I mention that Weird Tales is now going at $24.90 each for 5 or more purchases for the month of September instead of the usual $29.90? What a deal! Firstly, a big thank you to both students and teachers from the Entrepreneurship Club of Bartley Secondary School who welcomed us with such enthusiasm when we went to their school to playtest Carnival Cantina! We really had a lot of fun and enjoyed ourselves as we watched the students become little merchants themselves. One of the students even got the nickname of 'Cantina Queen' because she caught on to the game really fast and won the game!

The pictures say it all! What a fantastic weekend we had at the Speak Good English Movement held in Jurong Regional Library!!! Kids as young as 4 to 80 had fun telling stories with Weird Tales! Though it was tiring for the team, as the event was held over the weekend from 10 to 8, it was definitely an experience we will never forget!

Tic Tac Tales and our Wade standee were the stars of the event if you ask me! Children and adults would gather around wade just to get a picture with him! However, the best moments for us was when we saw parents and their children working together to create a story, this motivated us as it reminded us of our original vision in the company - for kids to learn through play. So, the team and myself are charged and ready to brainstorm on new games and to prepare the release of our upcoming game.... CARNIVAL CANTINA!!!! So that we can see more families coming together through our games and learning something as well!

Playtesting Carnival Cantina

These photos say it all! The group down at ITE College East WERE AMAZING. Personally, I felt excited yet nervous for this playtest as this group would have been in a similar age group as I am.

I have been explaining to Primary School Kids and was afraid my explanation would have made the session... awkward ...

BUT!!! This group was simply AMAZING!!! They were very hospitable and open to the game and our team.

The playtest session was very productive and the team has received TONS of feedback/suggestions on improving the game. A group in particular gave us really good suggestions, leading us in making changes within the game play. THANK YOU GUYS!!!

What a great week this has been so far!!! Everyone here at I Heart Board Games! had the pleasure to play test Carnival Cantina with the kids at Bukit View Primary School! (A great bunch they were!) As always, our objectives for playtesting at schools are to receive as much feedback as possible - in order to improve our game play.

Carnival Cantina Updates!

Hello gamers!

The entire I Heart Board Games! team has been really stoked this month because of the completion of Carnival Cantina's prototype! *throws confetti all over the office*

Here are some sneak previews of what the game looks like!

In a nutshell... Carnival Cantina is an entrepreneurship game whereby players set up their own lemonade stalls and learn to manage their supplies, upgrade them, make superb drinks and attract the most customers!

Each player will have a merchant character who has their own skills and expertise. Making use of the assigned merchant's ability and skill, players race to become the richest at the end of the week (7 rounds in a game). This game aims to stimulate the players' minds to think of strategies and outwit their opponents!

And speaking of merchant characters... let's check out some very enthusiastic and sporting Singapore Polytechnic students who agreed to dress up as their favourite Carnival Cantina profiles during the SP Bazaar at The Plaza!
